Vinton street proposals were looked at last night

A Request for public art was sent out recently and last night at the Apollon gallery there was a showing of 20 different excellent entries. REALLY GOOD WORK! It was very fun that the public got to vote for their favorites and in the days to come The public input will be considered by the Omaha by Design Vinton Street Art Committee. After that the design selected will be reviewed by the Public Works and Urban Design/City Planning Departments of the City of Omaha and reviewed by the City of Omaha Public Arts Commission. So the winner has a lot of hoops to go through, we are wishing luck to everyone who entered. If we are chosen we will be using a lot of artists to help us.

Artwork used to make these sketches was done by local artists Sedra Castaneda, Hugo Zamorano, Ian and Jair Rodriquez, Eduardo Blanco, and Mike Giron. We have all worked together and are excited about the plan and the idea of working with many other art friends the artists will be chosen by the public, see below for details.
