ENTRYWAY MURALS

MISSION STATEMENT of Faith-Westwood United Methodist Church

What images came to mind when Jesus first told his friends to make disciples of all nations. They probably thought about fishing nets full to breaking, leaving nets to fish for men, fields ripe for harvest, fruits on branches that grow on a vine called Jesus, a door to freedom, life with the spirit, meals with none left hungry, overflowing cups of living water, and lilies resurrecting at Easter.

A BLESSING TO GO OUT WITH - From Corinthians 16:3

"Let all that you do be done in love"

When we go about trying to make disciples of Jesus Christ we will fail

if we forget the greatest commandment.

The fish is jumping towards a real stain glass cross, similar to the one in the mural above.  Christians used the fish symbol to identify themselves before the word Christian was invented.  Jesus talked about his disciples becoming fishers of men.
